Suspect Arrested in Connection With Barges Murder

OMAHA (KPTM) – A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a midtown man.

Omaha police say 21-year-old Armando J. Gomez was arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to a felony in connection with the death of 39-year-old Peter Barges.

Barges’ 10-year-old son found his father’s body lying in the driveway of his north-central Omaha home Jan. 22. The boy called his mother, who notified police.

No other arrests have been reported.

Police say they are still investigating Barges’ death.
