Reward Offered In Homicide

Updated: Sat 4:56 PM, Jan 24, 2009

While Omaha Police search for a suspect in the city’s latest homicide, the victim’s family, also looking for answers, is raising money for a reward fund.

Thirty-nine-year-old Pete Barges was killed early Thursday morning in his driveway near 71st and Lake. His 10-year-old son heard a commotion and called his mom, who told him to stay inside and lock the doors. By the time help arrived, Barges was dead.

The family is offering a $10,000 reward for information. If you know anything about what happened, contact police at 444-5656.

The Pete Barges Memorial Fund has been set up at any First National Bank branch to help support his son.
